I’ve come to realize that there are some
people you can only love from afar. Those are the people that don’t
understand the concept of give and take. They are takers and take
anything and everything you are willing to give. They bring a toxin to
the table that tries to seep into your life. Often times, they come in a
brilliant disguise though they can be the people that at one time have been
closest to you. It is sad when you realize that they are your own
family. They will try to guilt you into their acceptance, often claiming
that you had given them nothing. However, in your heart you know that you
had done anything you could yet it was never good enough.
One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had
to make was to remove certain people from my life. Not because I wanted
to but because there was no choice. When it came down to the bottom line
was when I realized that through it all they were the ones that had walked
away. True, I remained where I was. In fact, I remained unmovable in
my stance. Why? Because not only did I have no choice but it was
the only way to keep my ideals and my morals intact. To stand up for what
I had always believed it. There are times when you just cannot compromise
your beliefs. It is that simple.
I know some would argue this point and
that’s all right. Maybe you haven’t been where I am. Don’t judge me
for taking a stand for what many others would fall for.
I’ve also come to realize that no matter
what, you can’t make others see what you see – feel what you feel. That’s
one of the things that make all of us different. So while I wait here
praying and hoping that one day soon God will bring you back to me. For
now I will stay here and love you as I always have and always will… From afar.
